Tabouleh, Hummus, and Such

Bri ordered ginger ale...lucky him- he got ginger tea instead!

Well, we have arrived in Jordan. Home, sweet home. And we are SO happy to be here. Really. We love this place. And this food. ;) Since arriving I am consistently craving hummus and tabouleh. I can't get enough. So when date night rolled around what do you think we went searching for? (Thank goodness it's not hard to find) In Amman they have some amazing rooftop cafes that will bring hummus and tabouleh to your heart's content. We love you, Amman.

Hannah's Bachelorette

Heading out for the night
Lovely morning fog on the walk to breakfast

What a smart, little sign
What a crazy last couple of weeks it has been! The wedding is over and I am left with just pictures and memories of everything that has transpired. Here are a few photos from Hannah's bachelorette weekend. We headed south to San Diego for our last chance to hang out with the bride. Twelve of us celebrated the beautiful bride with food, lingerie shower, hanging out, and more food.

After sprucing ourselves up for the night we headed to Little Italy and the Gaslamp district. Have you ever been there on a Friday night? Yeah, well so has the rest of the world! It was packed! We ended up at Yardhouse for dinner and then back to the hotel for more festivities. Aaand to give our poor feet a break...a girl is not supposed to walk that much in heels! When you are with people you love you somehow always end up talking (and eating) until it is much later in the night than you had realized. So we all crawled into bed and slept until (almost) checkout time. (Oops) Thank God for the great coffee on the water right behind our room! Too good!

Thankfully, there were plenty of sleepy little cafes nearby for us sleepy-heads to eat at. We found a darling place by the bay with good food and good prices. Win-win.

I love chances like this to get away and celebrate a person and a marriage. Especially when that person is my little sister whom I adore. And she has found such a special guy that loves her so much. Something/someone this special doesn't just happen every day.

Love you, Hannah!

Peace and Harmony

Last night we got back from a week long trip up and down California. (At least part of California- it's huge!!) We spent two of our nights in Cambria. A few miles away from Cambria we discovered the little town of Harmony with the whopping population of 18 people! I mean, is this for real??? 18? That was the population in our house growing up...ok, slight exaggeration. But almost!

But for only having 18 people they had it going on! We started at their adorable little cafe, looked at the shop across the way, visited their tiny post office, saw some real life glass blowing and of course took pictures with roosters and old trucks. (Duh!)

Harmony, you're the cutest.

Hadley RACHEL

Paper-Source, what can't you do?

Garage parties aren't what they used to be!
Beautiful guest of honor

Lindsey hand-made tags for each cake pops...dang, girl!
My cousin is having a baby- and I am SO excited. All my life, all I have ever wanted was for someone...anyone to name their child after me. I've tried to talk people into it. I've begged and pleaded. There is even a little girl that I claim as my namesake even though that may not be true. But this little baby is one step closer. She is kind of named after me. Not all the way. But the fact that I am the baby's cousin/aunt was surely a big deciding factor in the name...right? (I've convinced myself)

I have so many memories with this baby's mama throughout the years. When we were younger we were super cool and had a club called "The Purple People Eaters Club". Like I said- super cool! But now we have gotten older and don't do clubs- but we still do lunches! Chinese food being a big favorite with both of us right now. I think I have sympathy cravings for this cute mama.

So here are a few pictures from her baby shower a few weeks ago at our house. Garage turned baby shower!

Tis the Season

Wedding season! It is coming up on us fast. My husband and I are still living in California for that very reason. My little sister is getting married June 8 and we wouldn't want to miss it for the world. Tonight we met with the florist and went over all floral details. Over the weekend we purchased fabric for a beautiful backdrop for the wedding. Oh the fun! I could talk wedding every day and never get sick of it!

Pictures above are from a bachelorette party of a different friend last weekend. There was a French/Macaroon theme running through the night. Nothing wrong with that. ;) I definitely ate too many of those beautiful, tiny sweets. They can't do much damage, right?

xoxo

Little Plate, Big Meal

I want another one just looking at this!

I think there were 4 avocados in that there guacamole

Every Thursday my husband and I go on a date. Tonight we visited Lola Gaspar. My brother had told us we had to try it. He said he had a nightmare- that he never ate there again. (Our family has a little flair for the dramatic) So when I saw they had specials from 3-6 pm every day I was all about it!

What is it about happy hour pricing that is so thrilling? Sometimes the way I rush us to save that extra $3 is ridiculous. But somehow the food tastes better when you aren't paying full price. Doesn't matter what the rush was to get there, it's worth it!

So my husband and I went straight from work to dinner. Freshening up is over rated! And this time...we were NOT disappointed. We ended up ordering one of each appetizer and not being able to finish them all! My only disappointment was that I couldn't fit an entree in my stomach too.

Great night, great place. Didn't mean for this to turn in to a restaurant review, but look at those food pictures again and I think you will understand!!
